Mats Lundquist appointed new CEO of Telenor Connexion
Mats Lundquist has been appointed new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telenor Connexion as Per Simonsen takes on the role as SVP Internet of Things within Telenor Group. The change will be effective 1 September 2015.
Telenor Connexion, the leading enabler of connected business solutions, today announced that it has appointed Mats Lundquist as new CEO while Per Simonsen will take on a new position within Telenor Group to further strengthen its global Internet of Things business.

Mats has 15 years of operational experience in the telecom industry including positions as Head of Telenor Sweden’s Broadband & TV Division and Head of the Business Division. He has worked strategically with fixed and mobile B2B solutions as well as system integration with extensive experience of M&A and international partnerships. I am confident that he and the entire organization will further strengthen Telenor Connexion’s position as the leading enabler of connected business solutions for IoT and M2M applications globally,” said Henrik Clausen, EVP and Head of Telenor Strategy & Digital of Telenor Group.

Lundquist joined Telenor in 2007. Prior to Telenor he held positions as CEO at TDC Song, Song Networks and Vattenfall’s telecom business. Mats started his career at McKinsey working as a strategy consultant for eight years.
Lundquist replaces Per Simonsen, who was recently appointed Senior Vice President Internet of Things in Telenor Strategy and Digital within Telenor Group. In his new role Simonsen will be responsible for strengthening and developing Telenor’s global IoT business, of which Telenor Connexion is a part. Simonsen will continue as a member of the Telenor Connexion board and will take on his new role on 1 September 2015.
