Telcare and Telenor Connexion together made the shortlist for Global Mobile Awards for Best Mobile Health Product or Service. This is a great achievement since this year was a record breaking year for entries.

The Global Mobile Awards is a highly sought after award in the global communications industry. The awards attract entries from across the world and are judged by a panel of independent, highly respected experts.

Telenor Connexion applied together with Telcare for the Best Mobile Health Award and was selected a finalist together with four other applicants.

The Best Mobile Health Product or Service award aims to highlight the rapidly emerging area of mobile connectivity in healthcare, an area which has the potential to address one of the biggest challenges faced globally; how to make high-quality healthcare affordable and accessible to all while utilising the benefits of mobile technology for innovative prevention, diagnosis, treatment and health system services.

The judges will be looking at how well entries meet the following key criteria:
- Innovation in terms of functionality, technology, business models and market
potential
- Usability: How simple/easy is it to use?
- How it taps into new under-served market segments
- Evidence of user take up and market success

The winners will be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday 26th February 2013 at 14.30.
